{"id":380,"date":"2024-07-01T13:11:43","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T13:11:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/veronicaobrien.be\/?p=380"},"modified":"2024-07-01T13:11:44","modified_gmt":"2024-07-01T13:11:44","slug":"n-80-decembre-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/veronicaobrien.be\/en\/n-80-decembre-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"No. 80 \u2013 December 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Welcoming Jesus, with Mary and in the Holy Spirit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Could God have made a greater grace shine upon us than this: his only Son, he makes a son of man, and in return, he transforms sons of man into sons of God?<br><\/em>(Saint Augustine)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his book <em>The Christian on the Threshold of New Times<\/em> (FIAT Association Ed. \/ ISBN 90-78410-04-02) Cardinal L.J. Suenens highlights this link for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00abIndeed, we have learned to connect with the aspect of \u2018coming among us\u2019 in all the splendour of this Christmas night and we adore the newborn Child, with the shepherds and the Magi, contemplating the wonder of Mary and Joseph.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>But there is the other aspect: heaven has come to us in order to introduce us into heaven. The Incarnation is the prelude to our deification. In Jesus, the only-begotten Son of God, we become children by divine adoption.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It is not only the heavens that are opening for a mysterious entry of the Son of God into our earth, but the latter is also opening through our entry, still veiled yet real, into the Trinitarian family.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Viewed from on high, it is the Father, in and through the Son, who sends us the Holy Spirit. This is the key to the mystery that the Angel communicates to Mary: \u201cThe Holy Spirit will overshadow you\u201d<\/em>(Lk 1:35). <em>But it is also the key to the mystery of our divinisation. It will take place through the same Spirit, the Envoy of the Father and the Son, on the morning of Pentecost. You will be baptised in the Holy Spirit.
